Atlanta, GA - Joshua Eric Rice, 29, died August 19 at his home.
He was born in Fort Lauderdale, FL and lived in Savannah, GA for most of his life before recently moving to Atlanta.
Joshua was educated in the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System. He received Christ as a young man and had a definite call upon his life. Under the leadership of Senior Pastor Joyce C. Hall, Joshua was actively involved in the youth and teen ministries at Living Hope Community Fellowship where he served as a gifted drummer. Joshua worked as a chef and was an avid musician. His love of music was an inherited family appreciation.
Joshua passionately loved his children. He was committed to being active in their lives and providing lasting memories of his fatherly devotion.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elbert (Juanita) Rice; grandmother, Brenda Mouton; grandfather, James Henry Haile; great grandmother, Blossie E. Haile; and, uncle, Michael Witherspoon.
Joshua leaves to cherish his life a loving mother, Dedra M. Rice; his father, E. Bernard Rice; grandmother, Thelma Rice; brothers, John Thomas (Tiffany Griffin) and E. Bernard Rice, Jr. (Stacy); three children, RaNaijah, Jaylen, and Jayda Rice; aunts, Charlotte Witherspoon-Jordan (Wesley), Deborah Rice-Thomas, and Angie Rice Morrison (Rodolfo); uncles, Tarrence Sheffield (Jolynn) and Marcus Rice; nephews, Elijah Griffin and Everett, Ian, and Eli Rice; nieces, JaCilia Thomas and Izabella Griffin; and, a host of cousins and other relatives, Living Hope church family, and friends.
Pallbearers serving their dearly departed brother: Keiron Baronville, Brodrick S. Hall, Desmond Rankin, Scott Reid, Robert Saunders, Calvert Smith, and Ronnie G. Williams.
You have my sincere condolences for your loss death always comes to soon but the resurrection hope is a sure thing that Jesus has promise for all those in the memorial tombs they will hear his voice and come back to life on the earth. John 5:28,29

My sincere condolences to the family, sorry for your loss. Death is never easy to cope with but at 2 Corinthians chapter 1 verses 3 an 4 our loving heavenly Father gives us the comfort needed to endure trials.
